Carbon Credit Community

Well yet again we have taken to a gamble and invested in building a new community. This is our third major domain to launch to date and we are very excited at the prospect.

What is this?
According to wikipedia, A carbon credit is a generic term for any tradable certificate or permit representing the right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide or the mass of another greenhouse gas with a carbon dioxide equivalent. At this point, you may ask where did this come from and how big is the market. Well the mechanism was formalized in the Kyoto Protocol, an international agreement between more than 170 countries.

In simple language, if one company pollutes then they will be fined. However, if they improve their production, they can reduce their fines. Another way of reducing fines is in the trade of carbon credits. Carbon credits are gernerated by “clean” industries and industries that have figured out ways to cut emissions and pollution more than others. This reduction can be measured and valued on a market. Carbon credits are the result of this mechanism and is the product various emission cutting results are traded.

Our Angle

We believe that just like forex, this market will grow into a very visible and large place in the world. This venture involves creating a community where individuals can go to learn more about the world of carbon credits. In the production of carbon credits there is a whole line of people separated mainly into, traders, producers, and buyers. Specifically, to generate carbon credits usually necessitates lots of natural resources of actual money to start with. The scale

We have enlisted our development arm Beyond Programs to do the, design, development, and hosting of the product. Our current goal is to grow the community in the english speaking world. As many of our offering are multilingual, you can expect that this product will eventually go in that direction.

The community is built on a scaleable architecture which should help us to drive up user interaction. Users are able to form groups and profiles. More importantly, they are able to interact with each other and comment on each others ideas. We hope to soon introduce more social features and the ability for users to create their own polls.  All designed to give the user a strong community experience where they are able to reach out and gauge public reaction from people all over the world.
